About Afternoon Pause…
Hi, I’m Maelle.
I’ve worked in sales and the corporate world since 2019, and Afternoon Pause has been in my head since 2021, but… I kept putting it off because the timing was never right… until now!
After a really difficult experience working at a recruitment company, I realised I didn’t want to stay stuck doing something that didn’t feel right. So I finally decided to back myself and build the thing I’d been thinking about for years.
That’s how Afternoon Pause started.
I’ve always loved hosting, baking and making things feel special. My French background has definitely shaped how I approach food and with Afternoon Pause, I try to bring a little bit of that into each box.
It’s classic English afternoon tea, but with small French touches here and there, just thoughtful flavours and attention to detail.
Each box is freshly prepared from my registered home kitchen in Kent.
Whether you’re celebrating something big or just want a quiet treat at home, I hope you will enjoy it.

Yes, I offer local delivery in Deal, Sholden and Walmer, at the moment. I would like to increase my radius to surrunding areas in the coming months.

Each Afternoon Pause box includes classic English with a French touch. You will find scones, a selection of 3 finger sandwiches, 1 savoury side and 2 cakes. Our classic collection starts at £20.

Yes — Afternoon Pause is perfect for garden parties, baby showers, birthdays and relaxed gatherings. Or just a simple treat during the week for yourself or someone you love.
Event sandwich and cake platters are launching soon but feel free to enquire for early bookings! -

I will always try to accommodate where possible, but all food is prepared in a kitchen that handles allergens. -
You can request sandwiches without pickles or with unsalted butter. If you have a specific allergy, I am happy to provide alternatives.
